The fire. A fire holds many purposes. It is typically the lifeline to survival. They hold a lot of value and expand your capabilities in the wild.
When building a fire you always want to keep some safety precautions in mind.
Check your surrounding for dried up foliage before lighting your fire. Make sure that the area you have prepared is clear. Also be mindful of building a fire close to wooden structures or trees with low canopy's.
Always make some sort of barrier for your fire. Whether that be a rock pile or dig a pit for the fire. This will help contain the fire. Building on sand or rock is best because it can change the composition of soil.
Never, ever, leave a fire unattended. Even if there are no visible flames it is possible for the embers to still be active. Be sure to douse the fire with water before leaving the campsite.
Take care of the nature around you and it will ensure it is intact for future visitors.
